Our spiritual lives consist of conversations that oftentimes contain more silence than dialogue. They are full of quiet moments that deepen our faith and strengthen our spiritual connection to the world around us. They are the “behind the scenes” that shape our existence.

The material in which the images before you are presented represent the expected and traditional ways in which we have learned to experience spirituality in the context of religion. The images represent the moments of silence and solitude in which we don't necessarily expect God to speak to us, yet we meet him and feel him. While they are sometimes one and the same, these moments are not always shared simultaneously. Printed on pages of the Bible, these images juxtapose the expected (and unexpected) ways in which Michelle encountered God in these quiet, still moments.
